Sea Bass – £7.99 Kg
Sea bass is a silvery grey fish, whose fillets appear pan-fried on restaurant menus up and down the country
Prized by chefs and home-cooks alike for its gorgeous flavour and fine, soft texture, seabass is an elegant and light, and does well paired with delicate summery ingredients such as watercress and dill.
Sea Bream – £7.99 Kg
Commonly eaten in and around the Mediterranean, bream has a sweet and delicate flavour with a very fine flake – it goes well with classic parsley and lemon flavours, in addition to sweet roasted cherry tomatoes and basil.
Coley – £5.99 Kg
Don’t leave coley out in the cold! Often overlooked in favour of cod or haddock, coley is a white fish with a mild and flaky texture when cooked and more sustainable than its larger cousins.
Pollock – £8.99 Kg
Adding great texture to fish pies, and good for bulking out chowders, pollock is not to be scoffed at. However, freshly caught, smothered in butter, and cooked over barbecue coals, no one will turn their nose up to a fresh fillet of pollock.
Pollock is a very common white fish caught all around UK waters and sold in most supermarkets as ‘white fish fillets’.
Cod Fillets – £13.99 Kg
The classic go-to for fish and chips, cod is a big coldwater fish, prized for their dense, yet flaky flesh.
They’re a classic for a reason: cod fillets have a fabulously subtle flavour and is incredibly versatile too.
Red Sea Bream – £5.99 Kg
All parts of the red sea bream are used in cooking tai-meshi. The bones from its head and tail are made into fish stock. In sugata-zukuri, its head can be used as a garnish and its body as a platter.
Tilapia – £4.99 Kg
Cooked tilapia flesh is white, tender and somewhat firm with a flaky texture. Taste is largely determined by the growing environment — water quality and feed — but good-quality tilapia tastes mild and sweet.
Red Snapper – £15.99 Kg
Red snapper has a firm texture and a sweet, nutty flavor that lends itself well to everything from hot chilies to subtle herbs. Whole red snapper can be broiled, grilled, pan-fried, steamed, baked or deep-fried. Fillets are good pan-fried or steamed. Red snapper is also a nice ingredient in fish stew, such as cioppino.
Jack Fish – £5.99 Kg
The dark meat on Jack crevalle fish from its strong muscles gives the meat an extremely fishy flavor. Many people compare it to rainbow trout, but Jack crevalle can be even fishier in flavor than the river fish.
Mackerel – £5.49 Kg
Mackerel has a creamy and slightly salty meat that is often smoked or peppered and sold ready prepared. It is a popular BBQ or grilling fish as it holds its form well and its fillets are robust and meaty.
Trout – £6.99 Kg
Like their rainbow cousins, our Cornish trout do well whole roasted with herbs and lemon. Their firm texture, luscious pink colour and delicate, sweet flavour make jumbo trout a winner for dinner parties, as everyone can help themselves to the tender flesh as they go.
Whitting – £5.90 Kg
It benefits from a fast cooking – if eating whole or in fillets, usually pan-fried in butter or thrown on the barbecue: slow cooking whiting is a no-no because its fine flake will turn mushy.
Taste-wise, its sweet, light, and delicate, doing well in dishes such as fishcakes and curries.
Grey Mullet – £6.99 Kg
The flesh is firm, white and meaty, and due to its slightly higher oil content, is incredible when barbecued or smoked over woodchips.
Red Mullet – £7.99 Kg
Red Mullet is a beautiful fish with bright red scales cover its body and it has a plump, rounded body.
Not only is its skin very pretty, it’s also fantastically flavoursome with a high fat content. When cooked, it has a wonderful crunch on it – like fish crackling!
Parrotfish – £6.99 Kg
Parrotfish are great eating, almost no matter how they are cooked – raw, fried, grilled, baked, or added to a curry. When you spear a parrotfish, it is important to remember to gut the fish as soon as possible, preferable straight after being speared. The guts in the fish, if left, can make the fish fowl.
Trevalley – £5.99 Kg
Trevalley has firm, dense, slightly oily meat. They can be dry if overcooked, but Grilled, BBQ’d or Pan Fried lightly they are a pleasant eating fish. Skin is usually taken off to remove the dark oily bloodline.
Catfish – £4.99 Kg
The flavor of farmed catfish is mild and slightly sweet; its flesh, once cooked, is dense and moist. If you enjoy white fish like sole, tilapia, haddock, or flounder, then this may well be a fish you enjoy. Catfish are commonly coated with cornmeal and then fried in oil.
Sardines – £4.99 Kg
Sardines are fabulous little fish packed with tonnes of oily flavour.
Best eaten as fresh as possible, sardines are brilliant on the barbecue or under the grill. They need little more than a squeeze of lemon and a twist of black pepper to shine.
Herring- £4.99 Kg
Herring is an excellent source of lean protein. A single three-ounce serving of herring contains a whopping 20 grams of protein. In addition to its high protein content, herring contains many other key nutrients, such as: Omega-3 fatty acids
Oyster- £1.00 Each
Fresh Rock Oysters are a real taste of the sea.
They grow in abundance in clear Cornish waters and have a sublime, fresh taste.
Arriving whole and live, they require shucking, but it’s not too complicated a job to get to that delicate, soft meat inside.
Live Crab- £4.99 Kg
Our Cornish Crab are possibly some of the finest seafood money can buy.
Caught off the south and north coast of Cornwall, our fresh, pre-cooked crab is full of juicy meat with the finest flavour.
Cornish crabs are delivered whole, so we are unable to see the quantity of the brown crab meat inside but we do offer brown picked crab meat if that’s required.
Fresh King Prawns- £8.99 Kg
Gorgeous in a Thai green curry, stirred though paella, or cooked in garlic and dipped in homemade mayonnaise as a lovely starter.
Imported from warmer climes, our king prawns are insanely juicy and meaty – they can take on other flavours well while maintaining their own wonderful sweet taste.
Fresh Tiger Prawns- £39.99 Kg
Unlike cold water shrimp, whose meat can be watery and sometimes taste bland, warm water Black Tiger shrimp have a distinctly bold, sweet, firm-textured meat that has earned them the honour of being called the ‘poor man’s lobster’.
Cooked Prawns- £6.99 Kg
Gorgeous in a Thai green curry, stirred though paella, or cooked in garlic and dipped in homemade mayonnaise as a lovely starter. These king prawns come cooked and peeled for you, so they’re ready to use in an array of recipes.
Calmari- £10.99 Kg
Our squid have a firm texture and a lovely creamy coloured flesh, which is absolutely delicious seared on the barbecue, or fried in a light tempura batter.
Forget classic calamari for a minute – squid are so much more versatile than just being deep fried in stodgy breadcrumbs!
Carp- £6.99 Kg
The meat is pink and mild-flavored similar to Tilapia. As with all fish, where it is caught, and how it is handled and prepared is a big factor in taste and flavor. Carp are considered a rough fish, which means they have thick scales and skin, and a lot of bones.
